About This Course
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba certification. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.
During your training, you'll learn fundamental scuba skills including equipment assembly, underwater navigation, buoyancy control, and emergency procedures. You'll also study dive theory covering physics, physiology, and dive planning.
Upon successful completion, you'll receive a PADI Open Water Diver certification that allows you to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres anywhere in the world.
The [PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty](/courses/boat-diver-specialty) is highly recommended in combination with the PADI Open Water Diver course for extended bottom times and added safety.
